China on Thursday unveiled plans to develop industrial intelligence at home and indicated it expects its core industries to exceed 150 billion yuan by 2020 and 400 billion yuan (59.07 billion US dollars) by 2025.
China looks forward to becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence technology by 2025 and will encourage cross-border cooperation as part of this strategy, the State Council said in a bulletin on its website on Thursday.
The plan follows a similar national strategy for artificial intelligence issued by the United States in October last year.
According to early reports, China will launch a series of artificial intelligence projects and increase efforts to develop artistic talents as part of the national artificial intelligence development plan, the China Daily reported.
Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang said at a conference in Tianjin that China will launch a large number of scientific research and development projects related to artificial intelligence technology and dedicate more resources to nurturing talent and increasing the use of artificial intelligence in education, health care and security as well as a host of other things.
